The Southcentral Minnesota Clean Energy Council (SMCEC) is a dedicated group of citizens who share a passionate interest in renewable energy, energy efficiency and climate change.
The Southcentral Minnesota Clean Energy Council promotes sustainability by helping the clean energy transition move forward in southern Minnesota.
The Southcentral Minnesota Clean Energy Council promotes energy saving technologies, renewable energies, and clean energy in Minnesota. We share resources with local stakeholders, including citizens, businesses, governments and nonprofits by holding monthly forums on topics of interest to the community. Renewable energy and energy efficiency offer opportunities for diversifying the economy and strengthening communities by creating quality, high-paying jobs in the region, lessening reliance on outside energy sources, and limiting greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to climate change.
We sponsor presentations on the second Friday of each month in person (if possible) and via Zoom featuring prominent researchers, advocates and government officials from Minnesota and across the world.
